One of the most common questions new clients ask is: "How long does this take?" Here is an honest, step-by-step look at what the timeline looks like for a custom closet project in the Quad Cities.
Step 1: Initial Consultation (Day 1–7)
The process begins with a free consultation — either at our Bettendorf showroom at 1741 State Street or in your home. We typically schedule consultations within a few business days of your call.
During the consultation, our designer:
- Measures your space precisely
- Reviews your wardrobe and storage needs
- Discusses your style preferences and budget
- Shows you material and finish options (in the showroom or from samples)
This conversation takes 30 to 60 minutes for most projects.
Step 2: Design Development (Days 3–10)
After measuring and assessing your needs, our designer develops your custom design. This includes a visual layout showing where every component goes, material and finish specifications, and a detailed, itemized quote.
For standard projects, the design is typically ready within three to seven business days. More complex whole-home projects may take a bit longer.
Step 3: Design Review and Approval (Days 10–14)
We present your design — either in the showroom or via email with a follow-up call. You review, ask questions, and request adjustments. We revise until you are fully satisfied with the design.
There is no rush at this stage. We would rather you take extra time to get the design right than approve something you will live with for decades.
Step 4: Material Ordering (After Approval)
Once you approve the design and sign the project agreement, we order your materials. Custom components are manufactured to your precise dimensions. This step typically takes one to three weeks depending on materials and current production schedules.
Step 5: Installation (Typically 2–4 Weeks After Approval)
Our in-house installation team schedules your installation date at the time you approve the project. Most single-room installations are complete in one day. Whole-home projects may span two to three days.
We notify you of your installation date when the project is confirmed, so you can plan accordingly.
